With Barcelona, Messi has backed eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues. But, with his average performance in International football, Messi had surely been contemplating his talent and skills. But never was his performance to be blamed for his team's loss as he always gives more than he has. And, to the utmost grief of his ardent fans, Messi has retired from the International football.
This has come as a blow to his fans who think of him as the God of the game!
His major International honor was the 2008 Olympic Gold. And, in contrast, Barcelona has now lost 3 major finals in three years.

He stays like the only person who comes to the mind when speaking of football. But, with all these defeats, and Sunday's missed penalty, he has decided to end it all.
"For me, the national team is over. I've done all I can, it hurts not to be a champion", the 29-year-old said.
And, while Messi failed on the penalty shootouts, Chile won 4-2 on penalties.
And, today is the day where he bid us adieu from the International arena. But, his retirement is not the only one.
32-year-old Javier is one of the most chosen player from Argentina.
He had served as a captain for Argentina from 2008-2011, and made it to the three huge finals. But, the defeats are too tough to be handled by the star, and this has led him to retire.
