Just like every other woman, Lesley Miller would also feel shy of her body. She was a chubby kid earlier on and always kept her body 'hidden away'. She would wear body covering clothes and look at girls flaunting their slim bodies in bikinis on the beach. She tried to do everything from weight loss camp to surgery to self harm. When she was 20, she had a dramatic weight loss and that brought her to normal weight but didn't restore her self-esteem.
Recently, she brought her first ever bikini and broke all stereotypes regarding body image. She seems proud of her imperfections and confident enough to click a snap in a bikini. She promotes a positive self image and doesn't shy away from showing her body in public.
Check out Lesley's story here.
She had tried everything to lose weight but nothing seemed to work until very recently.
She also underwent surgery to remove excess fat from her abdomen.
She would always wear body covering clothes and she didn't even own a bikini.
She would still think her body isn't what it's 'supposed to' look like and that's what kept her shy.
She has learned to accept herself for how she is and just because society doesn't think she's 'supposed to' look like this, she won't pay attention.
Even if she has marks, scars and rolls of fat on her skin, she still seems confident enough to carry off a bikini. Confidence looks great on a woman!
She promotes such a healthy body image for young girls.
