Game of Thrones has always been a nail-biting experience for all its viewers. The American fantasy drama TV show has had its own shocking turning points, unexpected deaths and lots and lots of bloodshed which made the show rank first in the IMDB ratings since the very beginning.
This Father's Day, the ninth episode of season 6 of GOT, "Battle of the Bastards" would be aired (see the irony!) and it's time you prepare yourself for something for the upcoming episode. A lot, A LOT has happened in the pre-final episodes of Game of Thrones seasons and we can only hope for something shocking again!
Let's look back to what insane things have happened in the 9th episodes of GOT in the previous 5 seasons:
With Arya Stark ending her boring 'internship' to Jamie Lannister and Brienne of Tarth's budding love story, a lot has happened over the episodes and doesn't seem to stop any soon.
Back to the days when Ned Stark was alive. Phew! King Joffrey gave Sir llyn Payne the order to bring him Ned's head, and that's when all of a sudden, Westeros became a very dark place. The 9th episode also witnessed Robb Stark's victory by capturing Jaime Lannister, Jon receiving his Valyrian steel sword Longclaw as a gift from Lord Commander Mormont and Daenerys a.k.a. Khaleesi was trying to save her injured husband Khal Drogo using blood magic, only to lose their unborn child.
The ninth episode of season 2 captured the War of the Five Kings when Lord Stannis' forces attempted to gain control over the King's Landing in the Battle of the Blackwater.
This probably was one of the saddest episodes in the history of Game of Thrones. The Red Wedding turned out as a tragedy for the Stark family, witnessing the murder of King in the North Robb, his pregnant wife Talisa, his mother Catelyn, his dire wolf Grey Wind while Arya Stark helplessly watched her family massacred in front of her. Also, Jon showed Ygitte and the Wildlings his real face, Daenerysseized control of Yunkai, and Bran and Hodor found each other's company for the first time.
While Jon Snow emerged as the true leader among his men in the ninth episode of Season 4, he lost his love, Ygritte who was shot in the back by Olly while she aimed an arrow at Snow. The Night's Watch made its stand against the Wildling army in the nail-biting Battle of the Castle Black.
The season 5 pre-finale episode had plenty of 'Holy sh*t' moments, starting from Stannis allowing Melissandre to burn his daughter Shireen as a sacrifice to the Lord of Light to fire-lit fighting pits of Meereen witnessing the power of the fully grown dragons for the first time.
