The place is roaming with ghosts. A story goes that it was once a dumping ground for murder victims. Some even claim to have seen a headless old woman sitting in a tree and heard a creepy hysterical laugh in the silence of the night.
It is believed that this road is home to the angry spirit of the legendary bandit of India, Veerappan, who died in the area. Now that is a ghost no one wants to encounter.
Even though the road is not fatal but still is very creepy. The story behind is that once a couple was going down the road in a car. The husband sped the car towards an oncoming truck and jumped out of the car leaving the wife to die. The wife now roams the road wailing in her bridal wear.
If you are passing through here, then don't stop your car for any reason especially if you see a helpless "woman in white" asking for a lift and make sure to hit the accelerator to full speed before that said "woman" start chasing after you at an inhuman speed.

It is one of the most haunted places in Chennai during night. Even during the day, the whole road is surrounded by trees which stop the sunlight from entering the path. Many people have claimed that they saw a mutilated human who roams the streets at night.
It is not just one of those haunted-by-lady-in-white cliches. There have been many accident reports and the people how survived say they don't remember much, just the last thing they remember is someone came in front of their car, and they were trying to save her.
This highway has one of the unique ghost storied ever heard. A neck-cutting ghost roams the road with his arms outstretched. Whoever crosses his path will lose his head.
There are many stories around this Ghat. Some say that a flesh-eating witch haunts the place and it is advice not to keep any non-veg food in your car. Some people have claimed that their car came to an abrupt halt, and all their non-veg food disappeared from it. Many victims came out of there with scratches on their faces, backs, and necks.
