You've never seen something so awkward and bizarre before, and you have no idea what it is. It's probably even slimey and what if you saw something like that in your yard, what would happen?
Nature is weird in its own way, and there are creatures beyond what you can imagine. So if you see something like that in your backyard, don't be alarmed because it's probably something created by nature.

I can't even describe it. But it's definitely not an alien. It's a very rare mushroom known as Clathrus Archeri, also known as Devil's Fingers or Octopus Stinkhorn.
You'll also see tentacles once it starts growing.
It has black colored horrible smelling goo over the tentacles. So this brown-black sludge is actually helpful in procreating. When insects like spiders or flies get attracted and sit on it, the pores of this mushroom stick on these insects.
As long as you consume it before it hatches.
You will barely find it in the USA unless you're in California. It can also be spotted in parts of Europe and Britain.
The Clathrus Ruber is also close to Devil's Fingers and it grows like a lettuce globe.
