What comes to your mind when you look at a fair skinned individual with red hair color? You think of the person being either a Scottish, Irish or a Welsh...
Photographer Michelle Marshall wants to break this perception and make people aware of the MC1R Recessive Gene in raced individuals by documenting with simple portraits of these amazing people suffering from it. She wants to show the world that mother nature does not care about our prejudices and follows its own course.
MC1R is a genetic mutation that causes red or blond hair, freckles, and light-colored skin that tans poorly.
These photos perfectly show us that being unique is better than being perfect.
