Victoria Vincent gave birth to a baby girl at just 23 weeks, and she weighed only 1 pound. She spent almost 200 days in the hospital in a critical care unit. She was devoid of oxygen and had to undergo three surgeries so that she could be healthy again. She was terribly premature, and there were not many doctors who could do anything to help her condition.
Her immune system wasn't developed, and her organs weren't functioning properly, and she couldn't breathe on her own. But the baby still carried on, and she was finally released after 193 days in the hospital.
Recommended story: A sandwich bag saved life of a premature baby.
She was covered in tubes all over, and none of her organs could function well.
They couldn't give vigorous treatment because the baby's body wasn't developed enough to handle all of it.
Everyday there was some procedure performed on her, but the baby didn't give up.
Even though her daughter was going through n number of procedures and the stress of surgery was too much for the little child. Then too the baby was strong enough to tackle every odd coming on her way.
Even then, she needed 24-hour care with oxygen and a feeding tube.
She's off her breathing and feeding tube and looks damn adorable now! Her family is so proud of her, and she's complete bundle of joy for them.
I'm mind-boggled by the fact that a one pound baby survived against all odds. It must be a complete miracle!
