The basic purpose of the deodorant is to kill the bacteria that produces odor. It works the best if applied at night. There are a lot many other tings you have been doing wrong with your deodorant.

The only purpose of the antiperspirant is to curb the odor of the sweat. We've already started sweating after a shower, and if we leave it for too long before applying cologne, it won't work and show it's effect. So spray it right after a bath.

Deodorants kill the bacteria that produces odor on the skin. If you apply the deo on the fabric, it won't be able to get the job done. And if you think spraying cologne on cloth makes it last longer, you are wrong because the scent evaporates after some time. Therefore it should be applied on the skin.

It's a fact that no deodorant lasts longer. You are supposed to apply it in every four hours after washing heavy sweat areas or cleaning it with wet wipes. If you simply spray without cleaning, you'll apply it on a layer of sweat, not skin.

Identify your skin type and choose deodorant accordingly. If you have sensitive skin, avoid using colognes with high chemicals. On the other hand, if your body perspires a lot, use antiperspirants over deodorants. They have extra chemicals which can absorb sweat besides killing germs.

The best time to spray cologne is before going to bed. This is because we all sweat while sleeping so spraying deo will kill the odour producing bacteria and you'll feel fresh when you wake up in the morning.

Deodorants have chemicals which cause irritation and damage skin by making it prone to itchiness and rashes. Therefore, it should be applied as per the requirement.

Pick up a cologne that matches your bath and beauty products. If your body wash has a floral smell, get a deodorant that has a similar fragrance. Else different kinds of scents will clash and the result can be a disaster.
