What Makes Your Eyes Red In The Pool? It's Not Chlorine!
We all suffer from red eyes after swimming in the pool most of the time. But what makes our eyes red in the pool?
Yeah, I know the very first answer came to your mind is chlorine. But I'm sorry buddy you're wrong. It is not just chlorine which makes our eyes red. It is something else, and that is so horrible.
Let's find it out.
Wanna know the truth? Let me warn you first, it's horrible.
It will haunt you every time you step in a pool.
Yeah, you guessed it right. It's because of your (or someone else's) pee in the pool.
According to recent study, chlorine mixed with pee and sweat and a lot of other things forms cyanogen chloride (CnCl) and trichloramines (NCl3) as byproducts.
And these chloramines, not just chlorine, it causes eyes to burn and red while swimming.
Also the stronger the chlorine smell at a pool, the more filled with pee it is.
Who said you can't spell 'pool' without 'p(ee)'?
