If you thought tumors were just human things, you're damn wrong there. Here we have a goldfish, Nemo, who had a giant tumor in his head, for which his owners sent him over to specialist vets, over 200 miles across.
And if you're wondering why they needed specialists for the job, then here's something - the fish was kept out of water for 45 minutes for the operation. However, now that the surgery has been done with, and Nemo's condition is improving at a rather encouraging pace, it does seem likely that he will make a nice full recovery soon enough.
Check out his story below.
Nemo traveled 200 miles to get to specialist vets who could help him with his tumor. And, they did. The fish was kept alive by putting a water-filled syringe in his mouth and gills so he could continue to receive oxygen as the surgery took place out of the water - and went on for a long 45 minutes.
That was because of the size of the tumor. It was almost the size of the fish itself!
That size- ain't it unimaginable. That was in a fish!
