Every time I go to the beach, I secretly wish to find a glass bottle holding a note inside or something similar equally mysterious. Mystery novels like the brilliant piece by Agatha Cristie 'And Then There Were None' have added fuel to my desire. While I'm still waiting for this dream of mine to come true, a couple who was on a vacation to a German island noticed something that looked like trash at first, but when they opened it, they were shocked to the core!
Scroll down to know more.
Marianne Winkler and her husband Horst were spending quality time with each other on an island in Germany where they found something that appeared like trash in the first look.
While walking around the beach, they saw a glass bottle holding a note within!
The couple on vacation tried a lot to retrieve the note using their hands but all went in vain. So they decided to break the bottle.
When they read the note, they came to know that it had been left by the Marine Biological Association.
The note read to find the location of the area the glass bottle was discovered and return it to the Marine Biological Association. Whoever would do the needful would receive one shilling for the same. When the couple contacted the MBA, they realized that the bottle was sent out in 1904, OVER 100 YEARS AGO!
