Gertrude Weaver was born on the 4th of July and lives in a care facility in Arkansas. As the oldest living American, she says "You have to follow God. Don't follow anyone else. Be obedient and follow the laws and don't worry about anything. I've followed him for many, many years and I ain't tired."
Susannah eats bacon, grits, and scrambled eggs for breakfast every day. The only health problem she has encountered in her 115 years is high blood pressure and vision loss due to glaucoma. Living in New York, this feisty young woman loves lacy lingerie, saying, "You can never get too old to wear fancy stuff."
