Over the next several months, WWE has the opportunity to create a slew of fresh main event match-ups that have never been seen before on WWE programming. It's an exciting time to be a member of the WWE Universe. Many stars suffered injuries, some are still recovering while some are almost at the verge of comng back. Let's take a closer look at some of the potential main events that WWE could present to its audience over the next few months...
Over the next few weeks, AJ Styles could be making a slow descent towards the dark side, setting up a heel run for The Phenomenal One that could see him clash with several new opponents. And with John Cena returning in just a few weeks, it's only a matter of time until WWE's biggest superstar meets TNA's biggest superstar.
Speaking of superstars due, to make their return over the summer, Seth Rollins shouldn't be too far behind John Cena when it comes to getting back inside the squared circle. If so, he'll need some heels to work with and with the potential reformation of The Bullet Club being rumored, hoped for, and teased, since before the Royal Rumble, a program with AJ Styles could make for a nice way to re-introduce The Architect to the WWE Universe.
If Finn Bálor joins the main roster of WWE over the next few weeks as rumors suggest, the biggest question surrounds his allegiances. Will he be portrayed as a villain and side with former NJPW buddies, Gallows and Anderson? Or will he continue his babyface ways from his reign as NXT Champion and take-up the good fight? Same can be asked about former WWE Champion Seth Rollins when he returns to the main roster. These are two of the hottest superstars on the WWE roster and one thing's for sure: the two former NXT Champions will collide.
It s clear that from WWE indications that they want to present Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar at some point in the near future. This opportunity was lost 2 times (Royal Rumble & Wrestlemania) It has the potential to be a great feud, if done right. Imagine if Bray were to somehow slay The Beast? Talk about the New Face Of Fear :)
With Shane-O-Mac seeming to be a regular fixture on WWE programming heading into the Summer, a match between these two at SummerSlam should be expected. The current job-share angle with Stephanie McMahon is certainly on borrowed time as the two McMahons' problems will come to a head before long. And when there is too much at stake like the Winner of this takes over RAW, who better to represent The Authority than the former WWE Champion and husband of Stephanie? Triple H must be really interested in the outcome of the Shane/Stephanie power struggle so why not take matters into his own hands for one of the premier matches at SummerSlam '16?
