"To reach something good it is very useful to have gone astray, and thus acquire experience." - Saint Teresa of Aliva
We learn a lot of things from our experiences, and blessed are those who have their elders to guide them through ups and downs in life. Our grandparents have lived long enough to know tons of people, learn their behavior and collected enough pieces of advice for their grandkids, and why the hell not!
Here's a story of a woman who when found out she was being cheated on was given a badass piece of advice from her grandmother. Scroll down to know more.
She was depressed after failing in love, so she decides to talk to her grandmother about this.
In one pot, she adds raw egg, carrot in another and coffee beans in the third one.
She takes out all the ingredients from the pots and asks her granddaughter what she sees in front of her. She replies, "egg, carrots, and coffee."
Grandmother tells her to peel the egg. She noticed the egg had turned hard. She checks carrot next, which has turned pretty soft. She asks her to taste the coffee. The magnificent aroma fills her nostrils.
She turns around and asks her grandmother, "What does this mean?". Then she tells her something very enlightening.
She points out that each of the three ingredients reacted differently to the adversity of boiling water. The carrot started strong but turned weak. The eggs were flimsy in the beginning but got harder with time. The coffee changed the atmosphere around itself to a better feeling.
"Which one are you?" She asked her granddaughter. She smiled and realised what her granny had been trying to tell her.
