Men are often caught by their significant others when staring at or while checking out some other women. Although such actions always happen instinctively, at such occasions, it's better to have a logical, or even better, a scientific explanation to handle your partner's anger. ;)
Dennis Prager took a scientific approach to figure out why men stare at women. Let's see how it goes.
Not necessarily. So why do men stare, are they tired of their current partner or is there some other reason?
As we all know, the ways in which men and women process the physical attractiveness are different. In Prager's words, "The power of the visual to excite men has no analogue in women." For an instance, a man's legs clearly don't turn a female on like a woman's legs do for a male.
According to Prager, unlike a woman, it takes immense willpower for a man to not stare at women around him. Hence obviously, the problem arises because she might feel threatened when she finds her partner checking some other woman.
Even though it isn't the case, she gets an insulting thought that he is comparing her to those random ladies. Amidst insecure feelings mixed with jealousy, the woman is convinced that her man is going to keep fantasizing about those bikini clad women even after they leave the beach.
Do men find these random women more attractive and appealing than their current partner? In some cases, maybe. But that doesn't really mean anything because in the end, he is going to go back with the woman he's with; the one he chose to be with.
Men truly believe in the motto - "Out of sight, out of mind".
When a man first notices a woman, it might take over his mind for a few brief seconds, thus leading to a minor lapse in his judgment which turns out to be staring. However, when it comes to remembering the same woman, he quickly forgets the woman on the beach while his female partner remembers them vividly.
Even if guns were put on their heads and they were forced to pick the woman from the beach out of a lineup, in most of the cases, they won't be able to.
Mostly, men find other women attractive simply because they are "other women". This doesn't mean that they start comparing women every other day. Also, it doesn't mean that they are dissatisfied with their current situations.
Now don't take advantage of it guys, okay? *smirks*
