Shilpa Shukla, better known as Bindiya Naik, was awarded the prestigious Star Screen Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for 'Chak De India'. She also managed to dart for nominations at the Guild Awards, IIFA, and Filmfare for Chak De.
Post Chak De, she absolutely killed it with the art films she picked.
She left the audience speechless with her aesthetic film B.A. Pass, and to know what her life was all about, what she did post B.A. Pass, how she looks now and more, you got to read on.
Shilpa started her career with Maharaj Krishna Raina, a fine theater artist. She also worked with Arvind Gaur, again a popular theater director. Some of her remarkable plays are 'Final Solutions and Tara' by Mahesh Dattani, 'Antim Diwas' by Govind Deshpande, 'Ek Mamooli Aadmi' by Ashok Lal, 'Log-Baag' by Neil Simon and 'Rakt Kalyan' by Girish Karnad.
Her very first in the Bollywood industry was 'Khamosh Pani,' starring Shilpa Shukla against Kirron Kher and Aamir Malik.
First Chak De, then B. A. Pass. But just before that, miniature fame tapped her feet with 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi', starring Chitrangada Singh, Kay Kay Menon, Ram Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Shiney Ahuja and herself!
She was offered a bucket of flicks after that, of which she hand-picked a few!
A lot of Horror and Sex films were offered to her because of B.A. Pass. In fact, she was really depressed since the aesthetic flick had built a very negative image of her.
The glam girl did Pranaam Walekum and Rajdhani express, both of which released in 2013. She gulped down more fame with these critically admired art films.
Actor Shilpa Shukla will soon be seen portraying a politician (who is also a part-time film producer) in the Indo-British producer Michael Ward's next, Bombairiya whose dates are yet to be finalised.
She did this flick in 2015 that did not quite hit the box office commercially but she received good critical acclamation for the film. The above snap was captured during the film promos.
Yes, that's right! Reports have it that the movie should be out in June 2016. Oh, did we forget to mention, Bindiya Naik was recently a part of the Chak De reunion which happened in March this year? Shilpa aka Bindiya, whatever you do, wherever you go, we will continue to love the fine actor that you are. You have absolutely been impeccable and adorable so far and given a lot to Bollywood! We would totally love to see more of you in the coming years.
