Dandruff is the most common chronic scalp condition which is noted by scaling of the skin on your scalp. In other words, we can say that dandruff is simply shedding of dead skin cells. Though dandruff is not contagious but still it is serious and embarrassing sometimes. So it is necessary to treat it as quick as possible.
You may have tried a number of ways for getting rid of dandruff from your head but somehow failed. So better going for medicated shampoos and lotions, try these natural home remedies once and see the difference in your scalp.
Citric acid present in lemon shows its wonders in reducing dandruff over time. Heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and mix lemon juice equally, massage your head and leave it for 20 minutes and then wash.
Take a spoon full of baking soda and rub it into your wet hair and scalp. Leave for a minute and then rinse it off. Continue this for a few weeks.
Keep the white sour curd open for 2 days and let it ferment. Then whisk the yogurt and apply to your hair like a mask and leave for an hour then wash thoroughly. The acidic property of curd helps in fighting with the dandruff.
Methi is a spice that is easily available in kitchen. Let the fenugreek seed to be soaked overnight. Make a paste and then keep it for an hour on scalp. Wash hair with a mild shampoo.
Heena or mehndi is a natural conditioner that is in use since centuries. Mix heena, tea liquor and curd in a bowl and add few drops of lemon juice. Keep it for 8 to 10 hours and then apply. Leave it for an hour and then wash.
Apple cider vinegar is of best use when it comes to fighting dandruff. Mix one part of apple cider vinegar and water and keep it aside. First, wash your hair and then apply this mixture on wet hair. Massage well and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with water.
Apply tea tree oil to the flaky skin or dead skin patches and leave for 5 minutes. This oil will give a wonderful smell too. Wash off further.
You will understand this ingredient by Multani Mitti. Use its pack mixed with water. And leave for 20 to 25 minutes and then rinse off. This will not only fight irritation but will also soothe your scalp as well.
Neem is known for its antiseptic properties but its paste can do miracles for hair and scalp. Apply its juice for scalp and leave it for 10 minutes before washing. This will keep the dandruff at bay.
Orange carrying citric properties helps in skin resurfacing but it has several benefits when it comes to hair. Mix orange peel and lemon juice and apply the paste so formed. After half an hour wash off with a shampoo.
