In a recent news piece, it was suggested that the EgyptAir flight was hijacked by a man who wasn't related to any of the terrorist groups. Hence, the hijacking wasn't really an act of terrorism, but it was related to a personal issue. Incidentally, the man who was responsible for the hijacking has been arrested by the officials, and many of the passengers have been left. Investigations against the suspect are ongoing, and the officials will be revealing him more soon enough.

The Foreign Ministry of Cyprus let out the name of the suspected hijacker to be Seif Eldin Mustafa in their latest tweet.

3 walked out of the plane while one was seen climbing out of a cockpit window. Among the rest, the captain, co-pilot, a security guard, a flight attendant along with 3 passengers were held on the flight.

The flight was diverted to Cyprus during the hijacking but the flight was headed to Cairo.

Flight 181 from Borg El-Arab Airport was headed to Cairo airport, but due to the hijacking, it was diverted to Cyprus. It carried 55 passengers and it landed safely at Larnaca airport, Cyprus at 7.50 am.

Once the flight safely landed at Larnaca airport, some of the passengers were noticed coming down the stairs of the flight and getting into a bus which would lead them to the terminal.

At the airport, a lot of investigations were going on which lead to chaos and confusion among the other passengers. The Civil Aviation Authority hasn't yet revealed if all the passengers have been left from the flight.
