It is not uncommon for people to overeat whenever they feel stressed, but this does not mean that it is healthy. Being overweight can cause a lot of physical, emotional, and social problems. You get tired easily; you are prone to bullying, and you feel bad about yourself for being unable to control the urge to eat junk food.
However, there is always a hope for a better you. It will not happen fast, but perseverance will pay off in the long run. Just ask Austin.
Austin is a 22-year-old guy from Virginia who was often bullied at school because he was obese. People kept teasing him as "fat boy" in school.
Austin kept gaining more pounds when he was young because he kept on consuming junk food and soft drinks. Worse, he ate more food due to the bullying he suffered.
Sometimes, he skipped school to avoid the bullying. Thankfully, Austin Shiflett realized that he needed to change for the better.
Austin decided to check his weight, and he was shocked to see that he weighed 324 pounds. He never believed he could be more than 300 pounds.
Aside from doing the Atkins diet to control his food intake, Austin also started going to the gym. In just a year, he lost a whopping 166 pounds.
Apart from being physically better, Austin now feels confident about himself, especially when it comes to having a love life.
Because of his great transformation, Austin gets asked by bullies to teach them about fitness.
Even though Austin has lost a lot of weight, he still has about 10 pounds of excess skin that he wants to be removed soon. To achieve this, he made a GoFundMe page.
Austin appeared in People magazine and he was also seen in the Good Morning America television show.
He wants to help others in having a better lifestyle. He knows that change does not happen in a single night because gaining weight also does not happen in one day.
