I think the rates of animal cruelty are rising over the years. I could never imagine why would people want to harm innocent creatures that only know how to love and care. Yet another incident happened when Gracie, the Pitbull was brought to Granite Hills Animal Care center and Dr. Andy Mathis did something really incredible to save her life.
She was highly malnourished, hypothermic, anemic and suffered from a uterine prolapsed. Dr. Mathis is a veterinarian by profession and is a really kind hearted person. Check out this post to get to know his amazing deeds to save Gracie.
She was malnourished and severely starved when Dr. Mathis found her.
He could have either put her to sleep which was an easy option or he could try as hell to save her. He chose the latter.
The uterine prolapse was fixed but the medications and feeding continued.
Initially, she wouldn't eat much and would mainly be on liquids or soft solids. But later on, after she started gaining her strength, she started eating well.
She started gaining weight and became more active.
There's still a long road of recovery, but if Gracie finds a good home with people who would like to take care of her, she'll be up for adoption.
He calmed her down and encouraged her to eat.
