Fall of the Berlin Wall is a moment that every German cherishes. This year Germans are celebrating 25th Anniversary of the night Berlin Wall fell. It was an important event as it marked the end of Communism in Germany.
Germans have seen the time when at a Marriage celebration, few relatives stood at the east German side and others at the west.
During the 28 years that the wall stood, some 5,000 people attempted to escape and an estimated 600 were killed. Germans remember this day by leaving 15 kilometres long chain of lighted balloons in air along the former border.

The Wall split families and this was the only way to meet the family members.
On 15 August 1961, the 19-year-old Schumann was sent to the corner of Ruppiner Strabe and Bernauer Strabe to guard the Berlin Wall on its third day of construction. At that time, the wall was only a low barbed wire fence. From the other side, West Germans shouted to him, "Komm' ruber!" ("Come over!"), and a police car pulled up to wait for him.
Many people managed to cross from East to West Germany, the initial security was weak. Later they made a point to shoot anyone who tries to rush from East to West.
John. F Kennedy visited West Germany and got a great response with almost 70% of total population attending his speech. His famous quote there, " A wall is a hell of a lot better than a war."
