Check out this sweet story of his proposal to his favorite nurse.
Gideon Robinson is five years old. On November 17, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. And he has been in and out of the hospital ever since.
Over time since he has been visiting the hospital, he developed a special, lovely bond with one of the nurses there - Sarah Richardson.
Sarah came to bid Gideon goodbye as she was going for a family vacation. The young boy thought that family meant a husband and kids. And that's when Sarah joked that she wished her boyfriend would pop the question already.
Gideon decided to become her man. On January 27, he made Sarah a ring out of pink and white pipe cleaners with a heart-shaped purple plastic stone. He even created a box out of construction paper.
"He was so excited, running around all day telling everyone he was marrying Sarah," Gideon's mom said. "He was very anxious for 3 p.m. to come around." Finally when the time came, the hospital's music therapist, Emma, played Gideon's favorite song, "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. And an odd 20 people gathered to witness the kid get down on one knee and propose Sarah.
She accepted Gideon's proposal and even called him her 'hospital husband.'
"I wanted to marry her to make her laugh like she makes me laugh," Gideon said.
