Dresses for ladies are often criticised in places which have a particular dress code, and many a time, dress codes are truly odd. It is probably not a surprise to you because it is a problem that almost the entire world suffers from.
Here's the story of a girl named Amanda Durbin who faced a problem because of her dress that she wore to school.
Amanda Durbin is a senior at Edmonson County High School in Kentucky. She was literally rebuked for wearing this dress to the school, which by the way, does not look inappropriate from any angle, does it.
The school's dress code states that dresses more than 6 inches above the knee should not worn and leggings can not be worn as pants.
Her so-called-violation was so unnoticeable that she attended many classes without any obstruction. It is only when she reached her overly strict third teacher that she was sent to the principal's office.
Principal Tommy Hodges couldn't seem to find any fault in her clothing. However, in order to measure and determine whether she was violating the dress code, she was asked to kneel before him.
Amanda was disturbed it and ordered her parents presence is a must. It took two long hours for her parents to get there. Meanwhile, Amanda had to wait and miss her classes.
Her dress was measured several times. One time it measured as 5 inches below the knee, and one time it measured as 8 inches in front of her parents. Because of this hogwash, Amanda missed an entire day's worth of classes and was still humiliated in school.
The parents were angered when the story reached the ears of the public and became a point of public humiliation.
