Many of us do not realize in our swift, simple lives how precious our life truly is. The very fact that we are alive is a gift, but most of us seem to forget that as we take things for granted. But this video of a teenage boy, Trevor Sullivan, waking up after an immensely dangerous heart transplant will bump you right back into your senses. It will instill in you that right thankfulness that we all must harbour in our hearts for being alive and healthy. So scroll down, and watch this heartwarming video.
The heart is that one muscle of our body that works restlessly for our entire lifetime. Of course, we all know how important it is, but how many of us actually feel its importance?
15-year-old Trevor Sullivan had a tragic experience which began a few months back. About nine months earlier, he began to experience terrible chest pain. It was not until it became unnaturally extreme that he was taken to a doctor. When taken to the hospital, the doctor said that he needed a new heart.
Trevor needed a new heart, but for that, they needed a donor. It took them nine months to find a donor heart, after which, a dangerous surgery followed.
Trevor had to undergo an incredibly dangerous heart transplant, one that he knew could have caused a stroke, heart attack or create other complications. Chances were that he was going into a sleep, never to wake up again.
The transplant was successful, and Trevor is simply thankful to simply be alive.
'I've never felt so good,' Trevor says in the video.
Trevor's dad took the video of his son's return to good health for two very deep reasons. First, to remind us of how precious our life is and how much we should be thankful for it. And second, to show how large a gift an organ donor gives.
