Laws and judgements proves futile unless they are exercised in real life. Thus, Humsafar Trust in association with Wings Travels is all set to give India its first radio cab service by LGBT community. This empowerment initiative is the first step towards ensuring job opportunities in the mainstream industries. Though the first service will be started in Mumbai, but slowly will also spread to the other cities of the country.
The implementation of this initiative is a good news not only for LGBT community, but society as a whole. We are eagerly waiting for the service to roll out in Mumbai and then in other parts of the country. Aren't you?

In this initiative by Humsafar Trust and Wings Travels, the taxis will be chauffeured by the LGBT community members.
A pilot programme is started with five members of gay and transgender community. After the training, they will apply for All India Driver's License.
Presently, the team has two members of the transgender and three members of the gay community.
One of the members of the pilot programme stated that this is a great opportunity for them to shed their image only as sex workers and beggars.
This initiative is a fine way to change the mindset of people and shed away discrimination.
The service providers are certain to enroll 1,500 more candidates from all over the country. Slowly, the operation will expand to 9 other major cities.
