While cleaning her father's office table, she found a suspicious piece of paper in one of the drawers of the table. The piece of paper was actually a note and was addressed to her father by a woman named Kathy.
In the letter, Kathy had expressed that Carol's father, Clifford Hawkins was her biological father. She came to know about this when she found her birth certificate. Carol went to her father to enquire more about this.
Her father did not know anything about Kathy. Carol decided that she would call Kathy and talk to her herself. She called her to clear her further doubts. Her number was written in the same letter.
The two talked for hours and later realized that they actually used to play together in their childhood. The two had actually seen each other grow. They even went to the same school and had visited each other's houses.
Kathy had three siblings who were raised by a single mother. Every time Kathy asked about her father, her grandmother and mother would feel the desire to change the topic. It was not long until she found her birth certificate which said that her father was Clifford Hawkings. So she decided to write him a letter.
Carol somehow convinced Kathy to meet her father who was suffering from leukemia and had 5-6 weeks. At first, she resisted but on hearing about his disease, she agreed to finally meet her father. Clifford passed away after 3 weeks of the meeting.
A letter led to a family reunion. Kathy found her father and her sister. Now she had a complete family to look up to.
