Arika Stovall is a 21-year-old student and her boyfriend Hunter Hanks, who is a baseball player were driving home on the New Year's Eve when they met with the horrifying accident.
Hank reported that his last memory before the crash is about is his Toyota Tundra hurtling towards the bridge support. The paramedics said that the couple was lucky to stay alive and they neither suffered serious injuries.
Arika wrote a message on Facebook in which she expressed her gratitude towards God Almighty and Hunter as she claims both of them saved her life. A friend of Arika took this picture when Hunter came to meet her despite all his injuries and apologised for her pain.
Stovall gives the credit of her life to Hunter, who did what was intended to save her life. Analysing the gravity of the crash, she should have been dead. She is also thankful to God that Hunter did not suffer grave injuries.
Stovall believes that when she gained consciousness and called out for Hunter, she saw a man with white long beard comforting her and reassuring that the ambulance was on its way. She says it might have been her imagination or a part of her hallucination, but it definitely gave her hope.
Stovall feels that she was given another chance to live and that too, for a reason. She is "grateful for this wreck and all it will do in our lives".
The couple is extremely happy that their story has touched the hearts of millions. Stovall said, " We've gotten hundreds of messages just telling us that our story brought them out of a dark place in their life and changed their life."
