Transgenders are still ill-treated in most parts of India and this humiliation that they receive out of nothing but a taboo. A taboo that has led people to believe that transgenders are something to be hated. However, the picture is rapidly changing or so it seems because of what happened a couple of days ago. Y Films, the digital platform of YashRaj Films just launched the 6 Pack Band that happens to be India's first transgender band. The band is comprised of six transgender artists who are immensely talented. A few days ago, the band released its first song named "Hum Hai Happy". Here are details about the song, about the band and the community.
In the voiceover Sharma says, "In India, the 'hijras' are a community almost in exile. Standing out at traffic signals after failing to blend in. Knocking on our windows in the hope for some kindness and perhaps a smile."
