This engineering guy created a rocket at home which set up new benchmarks. And now, the Arca Space Corporation in New Mexico has now developed a flying electronic vehicle that can hover over any surface or terrain, including water. The design can hold up to 243 lbs and can hover at about a foot above the ground.
Check this out.
Arcaboard's creators are tagging this as a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of motion science.
With 272 horsepower and 203,000 watts of installed power, it comes at a price of $20,000. But, it is only for some short trips, as long as 6 minutes.
According to the corporation, it is the lightest personal vehicle ever which can move in every direction including upward.
It weighs 180 lbs and to achieve flight, 36 high power electric ducted fans, which can reach a maximum thrust of 430 lbs are put to use.
"By using 36 power fans we ensure that even in the case of multiple motor failures there are enough motors remaining to take over so you keep on riding", the website reveals.
The stabilization system built-in, can be controlled via a smartphone in order to ensure a safe ride. The driver can change the direction of the vehicle by positioning his weight and moving his body, too.
The inside of the vehicle is 90 percent occupied by fans, controllers and batteries. "For the last 17 years, we have developed aerospace technologies that looked to the sky. We took our knowledge and applied it to everyone's dreams. Dreams of flying", said Dumitru Popescu, CEO of ARCA Space Corporation.
