Duke and Duchess of Cambridge named their daughter Charlotte, and a lot of parents followed making it possible for the name to hit the girls' list this year. But this can't be said for her brother, Prince George. It stepped down from its rank in the list altogether to be replaced with the biblical name Ezra.
Parents have started naming their babies after characters from Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games and the Disney movie Frozen. While Daenerys, Katniss and Elsa experienced a little spike in popularity, 2015 saw them hiking up the top 100.
The various names coming up this year are both new and old, with traditional names Abigail, Arabella, Esme and Anna gaining popularity for baby girls as well as Luna, from Harry Potter and True Blood.
This year, the focus has shifted away from the usual pop culture names with a lot of parents opting for something traditional or with a biblical connotation.
Charlotte topped the girls' list. Also, Harry is a strong newcomer on the boys' list for 2015.
While Princess Charlotte has inspired a generation of new parents, unfortunately, the same cannot be said for her brother, Prince George.
Also, reaching this year's hit list is Harry which is very symbolic of the Royal family, Harry Potter and more recently, One Direction's Harry Styles.
