When babies are born, they are expected to be inside a hospital. They should probably be in an incubator, or cradled by their mother and father. But sometimes, life is not that fair.
This is the heartwarming story of how a baby girl was left alone inside a bathroom hospital. When all seemed too bleak, a group of nurses found her and changed her life forever.
People do not have to give millions of money to help out. They can be good people just by lending a hand and being sympathetic to the plight of others. And when people feel loved, they too will pass on the same feeling of care and gratitude.
Way back in 1922, a group of nurses that included Miss Denise Ehredt was in a hospital doing their work when they stumbled upon a baby girl. The baby weighed only about 3 pounds and she was located in the hospital's bathroom.
Baby Katie was the named given by Denise and the other nurses to the baby they found at the hospital. She was inside a shopping bag and there were a blanket and some clothes.
Thankfully, after the nurses readily took care of the cute baby, a couple decided to finally adopt Baby Katie so that she can grow up just like any other normal person.
When Baby Katie, who now has a different name, asked whether the nurses worked there about 20 years ago, she asked if they knew about Baby Katie. Nurse Denise was very familiar with it and she was so happy that the baby grew up to be such a happy, beautiful woman.
It might seem like the event was out of a movie, but the woman that was once Baby Katie returned to Salem Hospital because she needed medical attention for her pancreas that became swollen.
Denise Ehredt noted that there was this special connection between the nurses and Baby Katie, as if it was because of a mother's instinct. They were elated to know that the woman was still alive and has lived a normal life.
Even though Baby Katie's birth parents left her inside a hospital bathroom, she was not angry at them because she thinks that her parents probably couldn't take care of her back then. She was glad that she was left with the wonderful nurses from Salem Hospital. She has played soccer and has been living a wonderful life. Katie now wants to be a pediatrician so that she can help kids the same way the nurses took care of her.
