Making films is not an easy job. A film needs a talented group of people to pull off the job: a director, producers, actors, actresses, makeup artists, cameramen, animators, cinematographers, musicians, and last but not least, stuntmen and women. Thus, when an accident happens during a movie shooting, it is with utter sadness that we accept what has happened. The final Resident Evil movie is currently being made, and a stuntwoman got into a serious accident.
Remember people, being a stunt performer can not only hurt you, but it might also kill you. Indeed, they are paid well, but it is justified because they keep the actors safe from any real sense of danger. They are the people who make sure that the most gripping and exhilarating scenes are captured for us, the audience, to see in the theaters.
People are very much familiar with Milla Jovovich as the female protagonist in the Resident Evil franchise, but her stuntwoman is just as important.
Olivia Jackson is a beautiful and strong 34-year-old individual who does stunts for a living. But this time, she might have to quit her job because she could have her left arm removed.
The Resident Evil crew was filming in South Africa and Olivia Jackson was going through a motorcycle chase scene. However, the scene that was shot this September led to a horrible accident as the metallic arm of a camera hit her as she crashed towards it.
Aside from being knocked down following the incident, Olivia Jackson also had severe external injuries and a lot of incredibly painful internal injuries.
Olivia Jackson said that her paralyzed left arm needs to be amputated if a specialist is not found soon. Not only that, her face has also been so badly damaged that she wishes she had her old face back.
Even if she is about to lose an arm and has had her face terribly degloved, Olivia Jackson is remarkably strong and is thankful that she is still alive. Milla Jovovich also said that the film crew was really saddened about the incident, and they believe that her still being alive was indeed a miracle.
Aside from doing stunts for the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter movie, Olivia Jackson has also provided her skills in Mad Max: Fury Road, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Cinderella, and the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She is truly a remarkable woman. Let's hope she gets better soon.
