The veteran journalist voted Caitlyn Jenner as the fascinating person of 2015 and all credits go to the sharp turn her life had taken in the near past when she made her transition from being a man to a woman.
The former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, shifted sex and became a woman and began to be gone by the new name of Caitlyn Jenner. Caitlyn made the first announcement of her bold move in a brave interview with Diane Sawyer on April 24. Then, she made the cover of magazine Vanity Fair. She even took her fame to a new level, turning it into a platform of advocacy for those like Caitlyn.
To convert her fame into an instrument of advocacy for transgenders, Caitlyn started her own reality show, I Am Cait. She has had to deal with some opposition on several fronts, but handled it all very well.
Caitlyn has been honored with several awards such as the Arthur Ashe Award and Glamour's Woman of the Year for the amazing journey she has led. And now, she's also Barbara Walters' most fascinating person of the year. And Barbara puts it all perfectly in one incredible line: "Through her transformation, she transformed society this year."
