Americans think Canadians are weird. Canadians think Americans are weird.
Stereotypes and misconceptions always exist, and they ruin a lot of ideas about everything.
It is imperative that we are cleared if these and we form new ideas about what people actually are. We all are different in every way.
So, here are some misconceptions that about Canadians that Americans need to know.
The national animal is Beaver. Yes, the ones that talk in Chronicles of Narnia. No, they are not on the verge of extinction. And we have money, we don't always need Beaver pelts.
This American holiday is celebrated in Canada in October rather than November. All other holidays are on the same day.
On 11th November, Canadians celebrate Remembrance Day. This day they honour the war veterans who are dead or alive for their faithful service. On this day, at the 11th hour, the armistice ending WW1 was signed.
We have a lot of land mass but the population is relatively less. But, most of the area is really cold, so they live close to the border. So, stop thinking of us as a small place.
Canadians have their own national identity, and are not Americans. Someone once said, "Canadians are unarmed Americans with health care." If you would stop thinking that we are Americans, that would be marvellous.
No, it doesn't snow all round the year and they don't live in Igloos. Also, they don't travel in dog sleds. Polar bears aren't the main enemy we look out for every second.

Santa Claus is ours, he's from the North Pole and we own the North Pole. So, Ho Ho Ho! We practically give you all the presents that you are so happy to receive.
You know the reason of White House being white? Canadians set fire to that place and it had to be whitewashed to hide the damage.
The President is the Prime Minister and the current one is, Justin Trudeau. Also, you don't particularly have to be born in Canada to be the PM.
