It looks like a plot taken straightaway from a Bollywood movie, but it's all true. There isn't a love story as picture perfect as this one.
Set in the late 19940's, Pradumnya was born to a weaver family in the year 1949 in Odisha. He was a gifted artist but never received any accolades in his village because he belonged to an untouchable family. Later in 1971, he joined the College of Art in New Delhi. As splendid as he was an artist, success found him. The world knew Pradumnya for making fantastic portraits.
Charlotte was a 19-year old art student who belonged to the royal family in Sweden. She when heard about Pradumnya, decided to get a portrait of herself made by him. She travelled all the way to India to meet the artist. During the process, rich girl falls in love with the guy's simplicity. And so does the poor Indian guy, falls for her strange beauty and serenity.
Charlotte married Pradumnya and became Charulata. She was happy, but she had to go back to her country and her family. She asked Pradumnya to come with her. He insisted on completing his studies and then making the trip. Later, Charlotte also sent him air tickets to meet her. But he was determined to make the trip on his own. Trying very hard to make both ends meet, Pradumnya set on his journey across eight countries on a bicycle. It took him four months and

He now lives with his wife in Sweden and has two kids. He is a well know artist in Sweden and an adviser of Art and Culture under the Swedish.
