The mother Marta Galikowska, 27-year-old from Przemysl, murdered her two little girls because she found a tumor under the mouth of her elder daughter. She even killed herself after committing this awful crime.
The tumor under the girl’s mouth was actually a benign swelling. Marta was suffering from mental disorder and was taking antidepressants prior to this scary incident.
The two young daughters- Maja, 5-year-old and Olga, 20 months were killed by the mother as she thought her elder daughter is suffering from cancer. The depressed mother stabbed her daughters and killed herself with the same knife.
The lady kept telling her husband that she wanted to kill herself and the kids.
Marcin was shocked when he found the dead bodies of his wife and children after returning home at 6.35 pm.
Firstly, Marcin was arrested by the police but then soon released after the investigation of the case.
After paying a visit to their home, the social workers said that they didn't have any worries about the kid's security. However, Marta thought that her daughters will be taken in the custody of social services.
Mr Lan Smith, senior official for Stoke-On-Trent and North Staffordshire, explained, "These were killings and suicide out of love - a perverse sort of love. I accept in Marta's mind she "knew" Maja had got cancer. She was completely wrong in that regard, but that was what she believed. She didn't want her daughter to die of cancer, and if she couldn't prevent her daughter dying of cancer she would take her life. She took Olga's on the same occasion, and having committed that she felt she had no other alternative than to take her own life."
The result of the autopsy showed that the lady and her daughters died from stab injuries.
The grief-stricken father paid a tribute to his deceased wife. He said: "Marta was a fantastic wife and a loving mum who worshipped our daughters Maja and Olga. My wife was a very special person who lit up my life. Maja and Olga were wonderful children whose smiles still shine brightly." May their souls rest in peace.
