The 33-year-old father was in a very bad financial condition and he had to sell pens to earn a living for his family. He lost everything he ever had in the internal war.
Gissur Simonarson started a campaign to raise some charity for the poor father. Gissur was so moved by his story that he wanted to do all it takes to help him. The campaign raised $ 191,000.
He also donated a part of that money, around $25000 to friends and relatives in Syria.
He came from a Palestinian refugee camp and was then employed in a chocolate factory. The camp then went through fights between the militants.
