What’s common between the movies ‘Mean Girls’ or ’10 things I hate about you’? The dominance of the ‘cool kids’! And let’s not kid ourselves, if we weren’t a part of that group, we'ld have wished we could. However, on the brighter side, if you were not one of the ‘cool kids’, then the chances are high that you are safe from the curse which comes later in life.
In a recent study it was unveiled, the children who acted ‘cool’ in school are more likely to emerge as losers later in life.
We all wanted to be them. Come'on, even if you deny, you know you did.
Researchers found the kids acting 'cool' are more likely to face struggle later in life.
The kids who had made their reputation in school through a certain way of acting will actually find the adult life very tough to handle. This is what the research says.
Drugs and smoking. Once the showmanship is over this is what attracts most of them.
They are also more likely to get involved in anti-social behavior leading to illegal acts.
Gorgeous people with strong attitude and a pinch of ignorance, this is what often makes up the 'cool' kids of the school. They are the one who belongs to the 'it' group. They are looked upon as someone unapproachable. They often enjoy the status of being the kings and the queens.
What happens when these kings and queens enter the real world? Where their status is suddenly reduced to nothing? Well, this is where they find it hard to manage their social standing and relationships. They doubt their competency. Hence, they give in to the ways of crime, drugs, and smoking.
Reaching the young adulthood, these teenagers find it very hard to cope with the reality of life. This study was conducted by the researchers at the University of Virginia.
