It's not every day that we get to see the amazing wonders of our natural world. We have the work, school, and sometimes we have no money at all to splurge on trips far away where we can find peace away from all the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle. Luckily, we have travellers and researchers who go to these wonderful places. However, sometimes what they see are not so beautiful. Natural? Yes. Brutal? A bit.
This is a male orca, also known as a Killer whale, who's been roaming around in the waters near Victoria, located in British Columbia, Canada.
As can be seen in the photo and the video at the end, this certain orca had a seal and was throwing the seal as high as 80 feet into the air, before the seal drops back into the waters in a devastating splash.
While Mike Walker was simply trying to make a video to promote Eagle Wing Whale Watching Tours, he stumbled upon this unusual event -- so unusual that Eagle Wing owner Brett Sober has only witnessed four such events in 20 years.
While orcas are known to hit seals to stun them, hurling them up to the air is another thing.
