Eugene then went for swimming in the ocean and was pulled underwater by a massive wave. "I've never been hit so bad. It was out of no where and I had really bad whiplash", he recalled the stinging pain he had then felt out of nowhere. He had then somehow managed to come ashore, staggering.

He then returned to his work.

He soon returned back to Massachusetts at the Fitchburg Art Museum, where he worked. But, he experienced excruciating pain in his back that spread to his chest too. When he couldn't sleep at night, he decided to consult his doctor.

The doctor diagnosed something shocking.

The doctor diagnosed something shocking.

Confirming his thoughts, the doctor said that there was a deep bruise in his back. But, what's more, he was also diagnosed with cancer. A tumor in his liver ! It came as a blow to the 39 year old fit and fine Eugene. The tumor was the size of a walnut, but still could be operated. Now, Eugene doesn't even need a chemo.

Thanks to the shark !

Had it not been the shark's bite, Eugene wouldn't have ever consulted the doctor, and would have been late in knowing about the tumor. "It feels like I got a second chance for life. I won't waste it", said Eugene. So, all that happens, happens for the good, we would say.
