The mother had recently celebrated her 20th year of being ovarian cancer free, but just shortly after that, one of her three daughters was diagnosed with stage two bowel cancer. They were devastated, as expected, but the news was yet to grow worse.
Sisters Katie Warrent, Kristal Ford-Spencer and Cassie Ford have always been there for each other - the perfect trio of sisters! Their mother has successfully survived cancer, but as it appears, its the sisters' turn to face the disease. It was, of course, unexpected. It was not like they were exposing themselves to UV rays! But although unexpected, these sisters are there together, even in cancer! Check out their story!
Sisters Katie Warrent (left), Kristal Ford-Spencer (right) and Cassie Ford (center) have always been inseparable. And they seem together even in disease. They all found out they had cancer within six weeks of each other.
Katie (right), 30, found out she had stage two bowel cancer shortly after the birth of her daughter Abby in 2014.
There is virtually no history of cancer in their family. Their mother had suffered from ovarian cancer 20 years ago, but she did successfully fight it off. Katie has been diagnosed with bowel cancer and the other two sisters have been diagnosed with breast cancer, of which they have no family history.
Katie had gone through intensive chemotherapy to treat her bowel cancer, but just when it seemed to be headed north, the doctors broke her the news of a recurrence of her bowel cancer.
Just when Katie's bowel cancer recurred, Kristal was diagnosed with her own ailment - breast cancer.
Given how things were going, Cassie was advised to do a breast check and found a lump in her breast as well.
Kristal ditched her head-scarf to avoid looks of sympathy.
They were always there to lift each-other's spirits. There were always two of them who knew exactly how the third felt every time she felt low.
Their husbands too have been extremely supposrtive, and they feel lucky.
A photo of the girls recently received a lot of attention on social media for its 'ties that bind' meaning - Cassie and Kristal now rallying behind Katie who is still fighting the disease.
