Violence is enjoyable only in the ring. But when it spills over into people's social and personal life, it causes only pain. Domestic violence is not something uncommon, and almost every society in the world is marred by its criminal presence. And like many other women around the world who fall victim to domestic abuse, is Chanttelle Ward. She was attacked by her ex and left in a very bad shape. And yet, here she is, setting a positive example for everybody! Check out her story!
Chanttelle Ward was attacked by her ex-boyfriend who tried to bite her lip, when she decided to end her relationship. She was left with horrific scars after the incident, but that didn't stop her from winning a top modelling contest.
"The past will never go away but it has made me feel better about myself. I hope it proves to girls, women and men who have suffered abuse that you don't have to hide away," Chanttelle says.
Rhys Culley was jailed for eight years last November after assaulting Chanttelle for more than 30 minutes, finishing the brutal act by biting her lip.
"I want to show other girls that have been in the same position to be strong and to not let something like that in your past change the future."
Chattelle has always been highly ambitious about becoming a model. The assault did leave her shattered for quite some time, but she was able to fight herself out of it and continue along the path she'd dreamt of. What a brave girl!
