If you love the Fast and Furious franchise like I do, you'll be pretty happy to know that the cast members are back for The Fast and The Furious 8. What's more, Paul Walker is rumored to appear in FF8! But how would that happen, you ask?
Well, let's just say that movie magic could allow late Walker to still star the upcoming film. More than that, The Fast and The Furious 8 will actually be the start of a new trilogy that hopes to finally end the film franchise with its tenth and final movie.
Action star Vin Diesel and Jason Statham have confirmed that they would be appearing in FF8. Sexy and feisty Michelle Rodriguez is also set to star in the sequel. For now, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson have not said anything about returning to the franchise.
Furious 7 was a billion-dollar blockbuster hit. This is why Justin Lin was seen to direct The Fast and The Furious 8. He has already handled several Fast and Furious films, so why stop there? Well, it seems that Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray will be taking the helm from him to manage FF8.
Eva Mendes' character U.S. Customs Agent Monica Fuentes was actually believed to be dead by fans, until it was disclosed that Fuentes was still alive. Thus, it's not impossible for the sultry Mendes to return for FF8, just like how Michelle Rodriguez's character returned after being presumed dead.
The storyline will be set in the Big Apple, as the franchise has always been based in Los Angeles when it was actually meant for New York City.
If everything pushes through, FF8 will come out on April 14, 2017.
Even if Paul Walker has already passed away, his character Brian O'Conner could still appear through CGI movie magic in flashback scenes. Moreover, his brother Cody could serve as a substitute since they look similar.
Universal chairwoman Langley and iconic action superstar Vin Diesel have already confirmed that Furious 8 will be the start of a new trilogy that would finally conclude the overall story.
Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody is likely to return for the new trilogy since the antagonistic agent has always been poised to be a more menacing contender for the protagonists.
