Diesel, the Anti-terror police dog walked to her death when she was sent into a building to sniff out the booby traps during the Paris attacks this week. She was blown to pieces when a woman came out, open firing with her AK-47 at the police and then detonated her suicide vest.
A wave of mourning across social media platforms was sparked under the Twitter hashtag #JeSuisChien, which means 'I am a dog'. The hashtag has been trending on Twitter.
May Diesel's soul rest in peace.
Diesel, a seven-year-old Belgian shepherd, was the member of the SWAT team which stormed an apartment block in the Parisian suburb of St-Denis. She was blown to pieces, when a Jihadi woman came out firing an AK-47 at the police and then detonated her suicide vest.
The elite police saw two Jihadis die and arrested five suspects while several more still hiding in the rented squat.
How police were met with hail of bullets as the siege unfolded can be seen very clearly.
As the tributes poured in, one police handler called the loss 'a little like losing one of our colleagues' while a Twitter user said Diesel had 'died to defend our colors'.
