During a short interview with "People", Priyanka Chopra reveals how she overcame bullying and sexism to become a superstar.
She is Bollywood's highest paid actress and one of the most popular and high profile celebrities of the world, she is also recognized as world's sexiest Asian Women. She is the dream leading lady of every male in the land. According to People's report with her hit ABC drama Quantico, PC is having a blast in U.S with her team. "America has been so welcoming to me," says Piggy Chops.
"When I went to school here, I didn't see anyone who looked like me," recalls Chopra. She says, she fell in love with America during a family vacation and came to live with her aunt and uncle there. She attended high school in Queens, New York, and later Newton, Massachusetts. Being from India, her different culture made her a target for bullies.
"I was called 'Brownie' and told, 'Take your curry and go back to your country, " says Chopra. "It was hard. I wanted to go home, and I did." Her mom Madhu, entered her into the Femina Miss India contest. "I won, and then I won the U.K.'s Miss World pageant," says Chopra. "So it was a good thing I went back."
She once asked a film producer questions about her compensation. He said, 'Well if you can't adjust, we can just launch a new girl because girls are interchangeable anyways in movies." "That stuck with me," says Chopra. "I didn't want to be interchangeable."
