The perfect example of a disturbing childhood is that of the Stand-up Comedian and Author Russel Brand's childhood. He was sexually abused at the age of 7, and his mother was diagnosed with Uterine and breast cancer the following year. He suffered from Bulimia Nervosa at the age of 14 and came under the influence of drugs as soon as he left home.
However, he came out as winner overcoming every obstacle and teaching people as a social activist. He has a crucial message to share with us on the topic of terrorism.
He asks us not to be suspicious or fearful of people who are different from us. For people are different, we are termed as a society.
He says that all the common in us is more than all the uncommon that separates us from individuals. He adds that both the positive and negative ends are extreme and have violent people. We, however, lie in the middle of those ends and hence we have to talk about non-violent solutions.
Lastly, he asks and urges each of us to live opposite to the Jihadi ideology and to love life, freedom, democracy more and to stay united no matter what. Unity is the only strength that can stand against terrorism.
