Making it to the cheer leading team, also made history for Anry Fuentes.
This seventeen year old is the first transgender cheerleader in the Denair High School in California. Her teammates totally accepted her after the transition, prior to which, she was called Henry.
"Making the squad was the best moment of my life," Fuentes said. "I've been wanting to be a cheerleader forever."
"No one has ever made me feel weird or like I shouldn't be there," said Anry. She has constantly been helped by her mates throughout her journey, even in raising money for her cheerleading uniform.
"I think anyone who is struggling with being uncomfortable in their skin … it's OK. You'll always have yourself. You're living to make yourself happy." You are an inspiration for us.
