The famous model cum T.V. presenter cum philanthropist married her carpenter fiance and put her past pain behind her. The vows were exchanged last Friday in a traditional ceremony by the pair. The first picture of the wonderful day came when the pair posed for a click after completing all formalities.

The delighted Katie said that her joy was second only to the birth of her daughter. So, Katie Piper is officially married now after pledging for life-long commitment with her partner in a beautiful ceremony last Friday.

The bride looked stunning in the gorgeous white lace Kolchagov Barba wedding dress with a semi-sheer insert and a modest train. She said, "It was quite a surprise actually, we got engaged a couple of weeks before Christmas so it was a really nice end to a year in my life I never thought I would be lucky enough to experience so yes, I feel really privileged and lucky."

They met because of a common friend Juliet who gave Richard Katie's number. Katie shared about their early dating days by saying, "James was chatty, witty and looked me squarely in the eye. He never once mentioned my burns, and because he didn't, I didn't either. He didn't even stare at them, so I didn't feel self-conscious. He had me relaxed and buzzing with confidence." Richard and Katie have a one-year old daughter Belle Elizabeth.

Katie suffered a lot because of the acid attack by Stefan Sylvestre, who was told to do so by her convicted ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch, following a falling out in March 2008. CCTV footage of the incident was recorded and life sentences were handed to Sylvestre and Lynch for 12 years and 16 years minimum, respectively. She is on-going recovery having undergone 40 separate operations. Body confidence is advocated by her. The efforts of the foundation set-up by her alongwith the surgeon Dr. Mohammad Ali Jawad who treated her, is focused on raising awareness of the plight of victims of disfigurement injuries and burns.
