36-year-old, Firdous Khatun, delivered her 9th child naturally in just 15 minutes. The weight of the baby boy was almost 7 kg. Fortunately, he hasn't been diagnosed with diabetes which could have led to infant obesity. He beats the record of a 6kg child born in Rajasthan.
A 14.77 lbs baby boy was given birth by an Indian mother, Firdous Khatun on Thursday night at Raja Ram Kalawati Hospital in Orai, Uttar Pradesh. The doctors were surprised as the country's biggest baby came out smoothly without any complications as such. Surprisingly, this normal delivery took just 15 minutes!
The mother said all her 8 children were given birth at her home who weighed a normal 8 lbs. But, she was rushed to hospital by her husband, Kadir Raza, for delivering the huge baby. Dr. Anjana Gupta who delivered the child reported that in her 21 years of experience, she had never seen a new-born a big as him. So, he was indeed a miracle baby.
The doctors were amazed the way despite his big size, the baby had a normal delivery. Though initially respiratory issues were reported, but, the medics have confirmed that both the mother and the baby are doing fine now. According to sources the doctor says, "Though his shoulders got stuck for a few seconds, within three minutes he was in my hands. He was so big that he was not fitting in my hands. He is a beautiful baby."
As the mother is not diabetic, so, the baby was not diagnosed as being obese. He was declared as healthy with all completely fine parameters. The baby is being kept in the Child Care Unit after being referred to Vatsalya Hospital. His developments are being monitored and his discharge is expected in around 5 days.
Last month, Goga Bai of Rajasthan gave birth to India's then heaviest baby weighing 6 kg who was born via C-section. But, the doctors had reported his mother's diabetes being the cause behind his large size. Khatun's son breaks the record.
