We all work hard so that we can play harder i.e. enjoy the pleasures life has to give. Then there are people who already have managed to have the silver spoon in their mouths, but the question is can too much wealth make you go crazy?
Meet Thane Chiquinho Scarpa, one of the richest men in Brazil, had recently caused layers of astonishment to stir up in the media, as he had declared a funeral arrangement for his beloved 1 million dollar Bentley.
He also posted a picture of his Bentley, following which was a vast negative reaction but then on the day of the burial the actual noble cause behind this madness was revealed.
It all started with a Facebook post, where Thane declared that he would bury his million dollar Bentley. He further added that he was doing this so that he could drive in style in the afterlife as well.
People went crazy over the internet with rants about how he could donate the car for the betterment of the sick and the poor instead.
He explained on several talk shows where he was invited after this announcement that he took the inspiration from the Egyptian Pharaohs, who were said to be buried with their precious possessions.
On September 20, the actual day of burial the story took a different turn, just when the burial was about to be accomplished, Thane stopped it and asked the whole media to gather inside his house.
Inside the house was where the actual reason was unveiled and all the perplexion created by the media was put to rest. Thane said"I have not buried my car, but everyone thought it absurd when I said I'd do it. It is absurd to bury their bodies, which can save many lives. Nothing is more valuable. Be a donor, tell your family".
This man gave us a very insightful lesson when he did all this. This incident was also nominated as one of the creative ad campaigns that year, as after this the organ transplantation increased by 31.5% that year.
